THE STORY OF AN INSTAGRAM ACCOUNT TURNED BUSINESs
I can safely say that throughout my 4 years at Kent State University studying Advertising and Photography, I was known as "the camera girl". But it didn't start there.
As a kid, I would borrow my mom's DSLR and take my friends on fun photoshoots in our backyards and local locations. When I was a junior in high school, I took my first photography class where I started an instagram account, @ktshieldsphotos, to share all the work i was creating. This led me to taking senior portraits for my classmates the following year. My love for photography took off from there.

During my time at Kent State I have taken on multiple photography positions with AMag, a fashion and culture magazine, the Kent State Football team, and Water Street Tavern, a popular bar for students. I also carried my camera around to events and nights out with friends because capturing memories to have forever is very important to me. Waking up to that "can you send me the pictures from last night" text was something I looked forward to.
I am committed to delivering high quality photos for you to look back on to remember the most important moments in your life. Your success, your lineage, and your love deserves to be captured. I promise to treat you as if I'm photographing myself and my own achievements. I love what I do, and would love to share that with you.
My Style
When choosing a photographer that's right for you, it's important that you connect with their work. My editing style consists of true to life, vibrant, and earthy tones to create a warm feeling. I'll make sure to get the traditional photos, but not everything has to be posed. I love capturing the inbetween, candid moments and messing around with movement, blur, and different focuses. I'll incorporate a documentary shooting style to tell your story visually for years to come.
